Personal Bio:
Having experienced first hand what public relations agencies are able to achieve for clients as well as the daily distractions facing internal public relations staff, Lori Lux started Lux Communications in 1994 with a vision of bridging the internal/external public relations gap.

Given the fragmentation that occurs when working inside a company, internal staff often becomes engrossed in the daily workings of the company and lose sight of overall public relations goals. On the other hand, external public relations agencies can become overwhelmed amid distractions of multiple clients, imposing overhead and an all-to-common revolving door among account staff.

In her consulting career, Lori has launched such notable start-ups as Extreme Networks, Atmosphere Networks, ipVerse, Ample Communications and Mayan Networks. She has also worked with companies such as 3Com, Finisar, Orchestream, Pluris, Symmetricom and Trapeze Networks. She works primarily as a corporate stylist, providing communications counsel to start-up companies looking to increase their visibility in an over-crowded networking market space.

Prior to starting Lux Communications, Lori was public relations manager for Combinet (later sold to Cisco Systems), maker of Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) routers. Before Combinet, she was public relations manager for high-speed switch manufacturer Alantec (later sold to FORE Systems) where she directed worldwide public relations efforts through the company’s 1993 IPO.

Lori was also an account executive for Franson, Hagerty & Associations, where she worked with 3Com Corp, Crescendo Communications, InGolf and MIPS as well as Alantec. She holds a BA in English with a minor in public relations from San Jose State University.

Lori is active in the community holding a number of board & management positions in school, alumnae, and sports organizations.
